Review of Spirit Stones: Unraveling the Megalithic Mysteries of Western Europe’s Prehistoric Monuments

Author: Dianne EberttBeeaff

“To come as close as possible to understanding stones, we must gather the facts and then we must dream.” Kevin Crossley-Holland

Anyone who has witnessed for themselves, the huge stone monuments of Great Britain is haunted by the deep spiritual essence the stones exude. One comes away with many questions, but with a feeling of experiencing a spiritual place. My own experience with Stonehenge was such an adventure.
Author, Dianne EberttBeeaff spent almost a decade researching and visiting Western Europe’s ancient stone sites. This book is the loving result, a book that is both educational and entertaining.
The author introduces us to the people of the Neolithic and Bronze age, giving in depth descriptions of homes, lifestyle, farming techniques and crops and the many metals and techniques of the Bronze Age. She then describes the structures themselves, enhanced by an impressive collection of pictures. Tombs, customs and burial practices are discussed at length; followed by types of rock and their uses, as well as wood. A discussion of stones and crystals and their many uses helps with the transition. The book now transcends into the spiritual aspect.
How can we apply the lessons of these megalithic stone mounds and stone circles of the Neolithic and the single huge stones or circle of stones of the Bronze Age, to contemporary life? Each chapter concludes with a section titled Spiritual Fitness, containing suggested applications to present day life.
More than an historical account, this book takes the reader on a journey into the past, where many answers to modern day questions can be found. An educational, enlightening, spiritual journey well worth taking, this book is Highly Recommended by Reviewer: Shirley Roe, Allbooks Review Int.
